RoboDK running very slowly and maxing out GPU
#1
我am working on using RoboDK Educational for 3d printing projects, but after modeling the robot, extruder, and workspace I am using, the entire software is running extremely slow. If I try to move the viewpoint, for example, I might be lucky to get 5 frames per second and I often see that RoboDK is using 100% of the GPU.

The lag also applies to online programming. If I send the robot a program, it will run a single instruction, pause for several seconds, run the next instruction, and so on.

我don't understand why this is happening, especially since this is running on a Core i7 with 32GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti.

我f I try with a new workstation with just the robot, it runs normally. What could be causing the issue, especially the 100% GPU usage? I can provide the .RDK files I am working with if that helps. Thank you!

Hi smorr057,

You should take a look at these sections of the online documentation :
//m.sinclairbody.com/doc/en/General.html#ImportSTEPIGES
//m.sinclairbody.com/doc/en/General.html#FastFPS

Have a good day.

Jeremy,

Changing the display settings and simplifying objects seems to be helping a lot, you're a lifesaver! I am using STL files, do they undergo the "fast import" settings too?

Hi smorr057,

我believe so but I'll need to confirm it.
You should try with STEP and IGES to see if there is an improvement.

我usually don't get the best results when I personally use .STL file.
